Women and Wine

Last week I hosted thefirst Women and Wine dinner, an opportunity for smart, fabulous dynamic women to meet and discuss sports, fitness, food, wine, politics, work, shopping, men and current events. What a fantastic night, seven women who did not know each other met at Via Matta. Invitations were sent via Evite so everyone could see and post their response and see if maybe they knew someone else attending. Why do we always run for safety...to what we know. How often do you receive an invite like this...people were thrilled just to be invited. After a night of great conversation and mutual connections we split the check down the middle and everyone asked when the next dinner would take place. The most fastinating part of the evening was when we each went around the table and got to tell ther group about 'who they are'...how often to you get to do that anymore. Through hearing everyone's story, connections were made and laughs were had...we all said again, what a small world it is. Even though seven people came together from all different places, everyone could connect with the person next to them. In this busy world, it is so difficult to have the time to nurture and build relationships with new people. In college, we had the luxury of spending lots of time in the dorm or the library and weekends and the bonds form because of the amount of time you have...living a charmed life means making the most of everyday, things that bring you joy. I am looking forward to the next gathering of smart, fabulous and dynamic women.
